It was a not so silent night at Horace High School’s winter concerts on December 18. The concert displayed not just one musical group, but three! Altogether the bands, orchestras, and choirs played 18 songs.
It is not common to see all these hawks gathering together to share their talents with us! Ms. Huston, the orchestra director, shares that what inspired the concert was the desire to display the vast musical talent of Horace High in a single night. The music students have worked hard since mid-October to put on such a great performance! The final song combined band and orchestra showing how wonderful the music department’s collaboration is. They provided a new fun way to see their talents for the first time in our school’s history!
These programs keep growing since they started at Horace High School. For the 23-24 school year, band, choir, and orchestra have a total of 180 students. Ms. Huston shares that these programs have done a lot to improve over recent years. She says, “Music students at our school have worked extremely hard in past and present years to build a music program built on inclusion, hard work, and passion. They have made wonderful music that will only improve in caliber in years moving forward.”
These amazing hawks did a wonderful job this December sharing their musical talents!
