Girls’ golf season officially started August 5! They are halfway through their season and have seen amazing success thus far. We received an interview with Taylor Olson, one of the three team captains. Taylor prided the team on their ability to lower their total scores during this season’s tournaments. The first tournament was August 9, but don’t worry there are plenty more tournaments for you to attend and support our hawks.
The girls’ golf team has put in work to attain their goals. One of the coaches, Ms. Tangquist, emphasizes the work put in over the summer. Our hawks attended some of the North Dakota Youth Golf Association tournaments and held captain’s practices in preparation. Due to this hard work, they have seen immense growth since last year.
Tangquist enthusiastically commented on the wonderful norms and expectations the team holds. The team sets values of integrity, hard work, and positivity. Due to this enormous auspiciousness, they have achieved great things including the JV team recently winning their very first tournament ever!
Taylor spoke excitedly about the increasing opportunities in golf including the chance to keep decreasing your score. Golf is a continuous activity, and we are so proud of our hawks for their hard work. Golf is a wonderful sport that you can continue to improve at. Check out the Horace Hawk’s Booster Club Facebook page for information on how you can participate in their golf scramble held annually.
Congratulations to the team and we look forward to seeing them easily get the ball onto the green at a few more courses!
