Traditions are building for the Horace Hawks

The Football coaches and players are working to bring the first-ever homecoming win to the Horace Hawks. The Hawks are taking on the Valley City Hi-Liners at home Friday night. Kickoff is at 7:00 PM.

Head Coach McMahon said the team is focusing on, “not turning over the ball and put[ing] long drives on offense together” and for defense “We are aiming to create turnovers.” In the past games, we’ve driven the ball down the field and we created turnovers on defense, so no doubt we can do it in this game.

Some freshmen are also getting the chance to step up and play on the varsity level for the first time, and that’s a big task and accomplishment for these players. The Hawks are ready to soar.

The past week the Hawks celebrated Spirit Week. Spirit Week dress-up days included: PJ day, beach day, throwback day, and Hawk’s gear on Friday. For the game we are wearing Hawks gear, so come at 7 PM and wear black and gold. Spirit Week builds a stronger and better Hawk community, so show your pride and support your Hawk activities.

Continuing this fun week, the game features the Horace Hawk Pep Band. The Pep Band will entertain the crowd with music and debut Hawk’s Fight Song. After the fun, and exciting game Horace will host a Homecoming dance. This is the first ever homecoming game, and this is where we build the traditions for the Horace Hawks. Let’s Soar!
