Congratulations to Reese Richards, our fine arts student of the month (August). Every month, a lucky student is selected to be recognized for their talents and contributions to Horace High School. Teachers and directors of fine arts, as well as admin, nominate students who participate in fine arts. All the nominations are then transferred into an online ballot for those select people to vote on who they believe is the best candidate for Fine Arts student of the month. For August, Horace staff chose Reese and she shared with us, “It’s pretty cool, made me feel pretty special.”
Those chosen for fine arts student of the month participate in more than just theater productions. Fine arts include all music programs, as well as speech and debate activities. Reese is very involved in the world of fine arts by participating in the musical, speech, and vocal jazz. Of the three, Reese says the musical is her favorite to participate in. Fine arts are fun activities that teach you valuable skills. For all those who are considering joining a fine arts program, Reese leaves you with these words, “It’s more fun than you think, just do it.”
