The Horace Cheerleaders defended their state title this weekend at the Fall State Competition. Competing in every category, the cheerleaders walked away with all routines placing in the top five. The Horace girls worked very hard this season, adding last minute changes to routines and additional practices in order to compete at their best. Your cheerleaders competed in a total five of events; going against schools from all over North Dakota. Below are the final placements of the fall season:
Game Day Routine (two-minute-long situational routine including stunts, jumps, a chant and dance: First place
Cheer and Dance Routine (two-minute routine including stunts, tumbling, chant, and dance): First place
Time Out Routine (one-minute routine consisting of jumps, stunts, and a chant): Third place
Stunt off (Gold): Third place
Stunt off (Black): Fourth place
Jump Off (Individual) Taylor Sayer: Fifth out of thirty-one.
With a majority new team, the cheerleaders were unsure of what to expect from this season. However, despite the uncertainty, the Horace girls fought hard and won several state titles. Currently, the cheer team remains the only Horace athletic team to win in a state event.
Congratulations to the cheer team!
