The ball bounced on the court as our boy’s tennis team soared at their recent tournaments. These past few weeks the co-opt team with Sheyenne had been practicing many skills in preparation for EDC and State. One of the main skills emphasized was Volleying, for those who don’t know “a volley in tennis is a shot in tennis where a player returns the ball before it bounces. Players typically perform volleys at the service line or closer to the net.”
As the team practiced, they gained life skills, teamwork abilities and experienced bonding opportunities. In an interview with, Andrew Rexin, a tennis player of 5 years, he explained how beneficial tennis can be. Many of the things the team has learned includes, “lots of teamwork and working together. Tennis has lots of social benefits and made me friends.”
In Duo events, Brandt Alaskson and Rexin got 5th at EDC and the team placed 3rd overall. Additionally, the team also placed 3rd at State with Alakson and Rexin’s Duo placing top 8 in the State. Congrats to the whole team and we can’t wait to see what you do next!
