Over the winter many of of us get bored. If you need a cure to that boredom, this is the article for you! We asked some Hawks what they prefer to do over the winter, and almost everyone replied that they enjoy sleeping in. The cold season is a great time to catch up on rest and relaxation before finishing off the rest of the school year.

If it snows enough by the time we hit winter break, you can always make a snowman or snow angle. And for those babysitting siblings over the break, these are great ways to tire them out. If you’re into winter sports you can go skiing, tubing, or snowboarding. Detroit Mountain, Forest River, Edgewood, Maplelag are some popular places near the Horace and West Fargo area that offer these activities. But always check the weather and what activities they offer before going, as they might not have the ones you have in mind.

If you don’t want to be active you can always read a book, watch a holiday movie, bake or play video games. There are many new video games that have come out throughout 2023. Additionally, Hallmark and Netflix have begun releasing new cheesy holiday movies for those who enjoy them.

A lot of Horace students say they like to bake during the winter months. Some of the best cookie recipes are on the backs of the chocolate chip bags and Pinterest is always a wonderful place to find new and unique recipes.
